Every Tuesday morning, Hatherleigh Community Market is the place to be for local produce, unique finds and the lively atmosphere of a traditional auction.
Running from 8:30am to 12:30pm, the weekly Tuesday Produce Market brings together a wide variety of stallholders offering everything from freshly baked bread, pies and pastries to locally reared meat, organic fruit and vegetables, and fresh fish. You will also find dairy produce including cheese, yoghurt and butter, alongside fresh local eggs, confectionery, honey and conserves. Seasonal flowers and plants sit alongside bird seed, nuts and other household essentials.
Beyond food and drink, the market offers clothes, locally made crafts and gifts, antiques, vintage pieces, salvage and collectables. Artworks, prints and cards from local artists are displayed next to stalls selling handmade soaps and cosmetics. For those who enjoy rummaging, there are vinyl records, books, tools, garden tools and even locally produced charcoal and wood products.
From 10:30am to 1:00pm, the weekly auction adds to the buzz, drawing in both regulars and visitors who want to experience a true piece of Devon community life. This is a general auction selling household items, furniture, tools, and garden items, but keep an eye out on the Old Market Auctions Facebook Page for updates for special interest auctions.
