Description
Untouched by time, the Duke of York has become famous in recent years for playing an integral role in War Horse, written by Michael Morpurgo and later re-worked for the film industry by Steven Spielberg. The Duke is the ultimate olde-worlde country Inn, serving up a hearty home-cooked menu as well as a fine selection of beers, ales, ciders, wines and spirits. Although not strictly in Hatherleigh itself, for more active people, the Duke of York is within walking distance of town across fields and public footpaths, or just 3 miles by road.
